Description

The Milesight WT102 is a smart radiator valve that measures the temperature in a room and controls the radiator valve automatically. The device regulates the heat output based on the measured temperature, so that rooms are heated more evenly and unnecessary heating is limited. An important difference from many other radiator valves is that the WT102 can operate self-sufficiently based on temperature difference, which means that battery replacement is in theory not necessary.

The WT102 communicates wirelessly via LoRaWAN and makes measurement data available for further processing in building management or IoT systems. The thermostat is placed directly on the radiator and additionally supports an external NTC sensor or a link with a wireless thermostat for more accurate control. Functions such as heating schedules, open-window detection and freeze protection are also present, so that the control is not only automatic but also practical to use in daily management.

 

How does the Milesight WT102 work in practice?

In practice, the WT102 is used in offices, apartments, hotels and other buildings where radiators need to be regulated per room. It is particularly suitable in locations where maintenance must remain limited and where one wants to manage comfort and energy consumption better per room. Thanks to the combination of automatic control and local storage with retransmission, the thermostat is also usable in environments where reliable data collection is important.

The WT102 is designed as a practical extension to existing heating installations and works together with standard LoRaWAN gateways and network servers. Via a gateway, the thermostat can also be incorporated into a BACnet system, which makes it a good fit for projects moving towards clearer and data-driven building management. It therefore does not replace an existing building management system, but rather provides the control and measurement data that can be used within it.
