Description

The VS135-868M-High from Milesight is an advanced people counting sensor based on second-generation ToF technology with up to 99.8% accuracy. The High Ceiling version is specially developed for mounting up to 6.5 meters high and detects visitors in an area up to 5.54 m² at maximum mounting height. With GDPR compliance without image recording, the sensor fully protects privacy, while the IP65 waterproof housing enables indoor and semi-outdoor applications.

The sensor works excellently in low light or complete darkness and distinguishes children from adults, detects staff via lanyards, and automatically filters U-shaped movements. Via LoRaWAN (868 MHz), the VS135 communicates wirelessly with standard gateways and offers heat map visualization of pedestrian flows. Local storage of 4000 records and automatic data retransmission prevents data loss.

How does the VS135 from Milesight work in practice?

Buying the VS135-868M High Ceiling? Then you get a professional people counter for large spaces with high ceilings. Mount the sensor on the ceiling, configure via Wi-Fi which zones are monitored, and the sensor automatically reports via the LoRaWAN gateway to your system.

In shopping centers, the sensor hangs high above main entrances where normal counters no longer work accurately. At 6 meters high, the VS135 still counts every visitor who enters, distinguishes parents with children, and records how many people pass with shopping carts. Mall managers see in real time how many visitors are walking around per floor, useful for staff planning during busy times.

Airports mount the sensor in high terminals where ceilings are often 5 to 6 meters high. Passengers walk through security checkpoints, boarding gates and tax-free zones while the sensor records accurately. Via LoRaWAN, multiple sensors send data to one gateway without pulling cabling through the entire building.

For event halls, the sensor measures visitor flows at entrances with high ceilings. Organizers know exactly when the crowd comes in, where people stand the longest (via dwell time), and which routes are the busiest. The heat map visually shows where there is the most movement ideal for optimizing stands and walking routes at future editions.
