Description

The Milesight EG71 is a building management gateway that ensures different systems within a building can communicate with each other. The device collects data from both wired installations and wireless LoRaWAN sensors and converts it into a format that is usable within a building management system (BMS). This makes it easy to connect, for example, sensors, installations and meters without having to modify existing systems. The EG71 can be seen as a smart converter that brings together different signals and translates them into a single whole.

The EG71 is an edge gateway that makes it possible to combine and neatly integrate different types of installations within one environment. The gateway supports common protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, MQTT and HTTP, making data easily available for integration into existing systems. The EG71 can be deployed independently in smaller projects, but is at its best as an extension to existing building management systems and controllers.

What can I do with the Milesight EG71 in practice?

In practice, the EG71 is mainly used in retrofit projects and environments where existing installations need to be expanded. Think of adding wireless sensors to an existing HVAC system, connecting energy meters or combining different installations within one building. The gateway acts here as an integration layer, keeping existing infrastructure in place and allowing it to be easily expanded.

The EG71 is designed for stable operation in building-related applications and can process data locally and execute logic without depending on external systems. This allows the gateway to be deployed independently in smaller buildings or projects. In combination with an IoT platform or building management system, the solution can be managed centrally and deployed at scale. The EG71 is at its best as an extension to existing building management systems and controllers, where it acts as an integration layer for connecting and modernizing installations.
