Description

The Milesight EM411-RDL-868M-EA is a radar level sensor that measures the distance to a liquid surface. The sensor emits radio waves towards the surface and determines the distance based on the reflected reflection. As a result, no direct contact with the liquid is needed and the measurement remains usable in environments with dust, condensation or temperature fluctuations.

The sensor communicates wirelessly via LoRaWAN and works together with a LoRaWAN gateway to make measurement data available for monitoring and alarm follow-up. The radar measures without contact and therefore remains reliable in environments where condensation, vapor or fluctuating temperatures play a role. Due to the reliability of radar waves, accurate measurements can be made in narrow wells, gauge pipes or sewers. Thanks to the external antenna, the sensor is moreover more flexible to position in various measurement setups.

When do I use the Milesight EM411 in practice?

In practice, the EM411-RDL-868M-EA is used in tanks, wells, sewerage, rivers and reservoirs where liquid levels need to be monitored remotely. This type of sensor is also suitable in environments with salt water, brine or other demanding conditions. The EM411 is the version that supports ATEX Zone 0, which makes it suitable for applications with extra safety requirements.

The EM411-RDL-868M-EA is intended for measuring points where you want to rely on a stable measurement over a long period. Thanks to the IP68 housing and the PVDF version, the sensor is suitable for environments where moisture, dirt or a corrosive substance play a role. Even in locations you cannot regularly access for maintenance, this remains a practical sensor for continuing to monitor levels remotely.
