Description

The Milesight VS126 L0EGL is a people counter that measures the number of present and passing people in a space. The sensor is mounted at a height of between 6 and 15 metres and uses stereo vision to count people across a large area. It uses no cameras and is therefore fully GDPR-compliant.

The VS126 is mounted on the ceiling and runs on a 12V DC power supply. The sensor makes counting data and analytics data available via network communication such as 4G and forwards this via protocols such as MQTT and HTTP. This allows the data to be easily incorporated into IoT platforms or other software systems. Via RS485, integration with existing installations is possible, so that data can be combined with other sources.

How does the Milesight VS126 work in practice?

In practice, the sensor is deployed in locations with high ceilings and larger areas, where traditional counters fall short. Consider shopping centres where visitor flows are tracked per zone, or logistics environments where insight into movements within a hall is needed. Thanks to the mounting at height, the sensor stays out of reach and a larger area can be monitored with one device.

The VS126 is suitable for situations where insight is needed into occupancy and use across multiple zones simultaneously. The data can be used for applications such as capacity management, cleaning planning or optimising walking routes. In combination with existing analysis– or management systems a complete picture is thus created of how spaces are actually used, without existing systems needing to be modified or replaced.
