Description

The Teltonika RUTC40 is a 4G router for professional IoT applications where connectivity, local processing and management come together. Devices such as cameras, meters, terminals, controllers and metering cabinets can be connected to a central system via mobile internet, Ethernet or WiFi.

Within an installation, the RUTC40 acts as a connection point between local equipment and the outside world. The router can manage network traffic, monitor connections and enable secure remote access. In addition, the router can run small software applications locally with Docker, so that certain tasks can be performed directly on site instead of always via an external server. This makes it interesting for applications around edge computing and smart IoT solutions.

When to deploy the Teltonika RUTC40?

The Teltonika RUTC40 is suitable for energy projects, industrial automation, enterprise networks, retail, smart city applications and remote technical installations. Think of charging points, camera networks, metering cabinets, mobile workplaces, temporary locations, retail systems and machines that need to transmit data or be managed remotely. Combined with a well-configured IoT router environment and reliable SIM solutions, the connection can be set up in a stable and flexible way.

For organisations, this model is interesting when a 4G connection needs to be combined with local processing and a modern wireless network. The RUTC40 fits well in installations where multiple wired devices, WiFi users and IoT integrations come together, without having to switch straight to a 5G router.

Application & use

When to use

For projects that require a stable 4G connection, combined with local data processing and a modern wireless network.
For installations where various wired devices, WiFi users and IoT integrations come together.
In environments such as charging points, camera networks, metering cabinets and temporary locations that need to be managed remotely.
For machines and retail systems that need to reliably transmit data or be managed remotely.

Ideal for

Organisations that implement edge computing and smart IoT solutions.
Professional buyers in energy projects and industrial automation.
Companies with enterprise networks, retail chains and smart city initiatives.
Remote technical installations that need robust connectivity and local management.
Situations where a 4G connection is sufficient and a move to 5G is not (yet) necessary.

Not suitable for

Applications that exclusively or primarily require a 5G connection.
Direct installation in unprotected, harsh outdoor environments due to the IP30 classification.
Very simple, small-scale home networks without the need for advanced IoT functionality or local processing.
